Goal

The aim of this Summer School is to bring 50-60 PhD students and postdocs together to learn and discuss about the “Design and Recycling of Rare-Earth Permanent Magnet Motors and Generators in Hybrid and Full Electric Vehicles. The summer school consists of 12-13 lectures (60 min lecture + 30 min of Q&A). The lecturers are world class experts.

  9. Permanent magnet motor assembly design
  10. Topic related to urban mine/REE magnets in cars
  11. Industrial production of REE magnets
  12. Recovery  of REEs from electronic waste
  13. Introduction to LCA with respect to rare earths and other critical metals

The Summer School is organised under the umbrella of EU H2020 MSCA-ETN DEMETER, in co-organisation with the EU H2020 project REMAGHIC and KU Leuven RARE3 (Industrial Research Fund Knowledge Platform on rare earth recycling and other critical metals).

Participants are invited to submit a poster, which will be on display during the whole duration of the summer school.
